I have not the grace to be born and grown up in a Christian home. My mother, who raised me, was totally and sincerely atheist, considering that religion was «the opium of the people». Around the age of twenty, I began to doubt that chance could be at the origin of life, and to seek this «unknown God».
I have believed in the God of the Bible and, in hindsight, consider that I have adhered more to the values of Christianity than understood Who Jesus Christ really is and what He had done for me. I did not grasp it until years later, during an evangelization campaign of the German Missionary Reinhard Bonkke. Jesus Christ on the Cross talked to me, personally, and just with a single sentence, broke my veneer of religiosity.
From that evening, my life has never been the same.
